Disco Balls of the Universe by Imani Ariana Grant is an informative and educational book for children that introduces them to the eight planets of the solar system. The little girl thinks everyone wonders like her what is beyond the sky and way up high beyond the clouds and the starry skies. She calls other children to explore and they find out that there are eight planets in the solar system and each one is shaped like a disco ball. They are all having fun dancing around the Sun. The first spotlight is on Mercury, which is the smallest, and the next one is Venus. As the book progresses, children are introduced to all the eight planets in a fun and interactive manner.
I love the authors’ approach to the topic and the party scene they create pulls readers in and makes learning fun and exciting. The illustrations are wonderful and they give clarity to the author’s words, making it easy for readers to easily connect with the concept. It is such a delightful book for tutors, educators, and parents to use while teaching their children about the eight planets and their features. There are so many interesting facts about the planets which are explained in an engaging way to make the subject appealing to any child reader. The activities at the end make it a good book to use in classrooms for interactive sessions. With young author Imani being a nine-year-old, this book will inspire students to try their hand at writing storybooks with good educational content to make learning interesting.
