Synopsis: During the quarantine as a result of Covid-19, the author began hosting an online storytime. At the end of each segment, she repeated the refrain: You are the “U” in Unique. During that trying time, her goal was to remind young people of how special they are. This story is an elaboration on that inspirational sentiment. The goal of this repetitive refrain is to train the brain to reinforce the importance of self-worth and self-love to children of all ages. The author also became a foster parent, as the need for safe refuge rose significantly during that unprecedented time. As a foster parent, she knew all about the unfortunate displacement and uncertainty of little ones in foster care. This story is to serve as a familiar beacon, affirmation, and reminder of their worth. It is her hope that this book will be made available to foster parents and children in foster care. If they should misplace their copy of the book, wherever their journey in foster care leads, a copy will be awaiting them to remind them they are loved, valued, and unique!

This children’s book hits “home” My children are grown now and are educators. I know they would’ve loved this book because of the fun facts and seeing families that resemble them and their friends. Even as adults we enjoyed reading it and I’m looking forward to more adventures of Malachi and Karelle.
Love the color and fit.
It was nice to shop with various options on diversity. My children love their book about promises. We will continue shopping for more books!
The messaging and graphics in this book are very well done! Highly recommend!

I have to speak about this book ASAP because @laurensimonepubs (Instagram) was so kind to send me a copy to review. In short, I was and am still in awe at every detail and illustration. This book has a wealth of knowledge. This book exemplifies what the adage means, “Big things come in small packages.” If you want a quick and easy way to share with your kiddo what different cultures wear, why and how, you absolutely need this book. There is no book like it! Even as an adult it was a good refresher for multi-cultural traditional and non-traditional clothing. I even learned new information as well. I implore you to get this book ASAP and share it with your class, your kiddos in your family, everyone. 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you again @laurensimonepubs for sending me this. I am incredibly grateful and have already been bragging about how truly amazing, educational, and artistic this book is. This book is so fun! Beautiful illustrations and musical story.
I like the varied range of occupations presented in the book. 4 Stars
As a Mom I love how thorough these books are about different ways to communicate, occupations, types of clothes and travel. Our favorite book was the one about types of travels. The occupations book is a little long for bedtime but a great resource and we’re reading a few pages each night. My 3 year old loves listening to these and looking at the illustrations. I love The diversity of the images.
I love this book! When I purchased it, I intended to read it to my lovely kids in the classroom. Obviously, I have to rethink this. So, Olivia Lauren's Occupations A to Z: A Guide to Jobs and Careers Book will be read and discussed via Google Meet in my Google classroom on Monday. I will try to share a snippet with you!
