Book: Tanks dont make good pets
Author: Tony Hunter
I loved this book!!! I had it on my kindle for quite a while and didn't read it because the title didn't grab me. Once I opened it and saw the illustrations I was pleasantly surprised. This is one of those cases of dont judge the book by the cover.
The author uses real family photos and incorporates graphics. Also the story is fun too. It is also informative and educational as it uses rhyme and also teaches the days of the week. It was quite clever and very original.
A lot of the books I read I believe are aimed towards girls. This book seems to be aimed towards getting boys to enjoy reading. Although I really enjoyed it and thought it would be perfect for miliarty families, my 9 year old daughter said she didnt get the point. I tried to get my husband to convince her it was funny and imaginative but he who is a veteran thought it unrealistic. I think that is what makes it imaginative and full of fantasy. So we agreed to disagree on this one. My only recommendation is to use larger font for young readers. I give it 5 stars! Good job Tony.
