Paper Moon is a cute and mesmerizing bed time story. It is quite like reading romantic prose. The intriguing colors, magical textures, and style of art lulled the reader to a quiet calm to pay attention to the skillful story telling. Paper moon had a life of its own and is a friend of ours keeping our secrets. The reader/listener is captivated by the story, as he or she learns about the personality and phases of the moon. The transitions are seamless and brilliantly written in a way that is slow and smoothing. This is a perfect read after a long stressful day of children’s activities and scheduling. The reader is reminded that nothing in life is permanent and to be encouraged and have big dreams because if you “aim for the moon and miss, you may hit a star” as quoted by W. Clement Stone.
I give this book 5 stars. So, has all the other Amazon customers who have purchased this book. I enjoyed the author’s style of writing. It felt very poetic. I enjoyed learning that the book was written and illustrated by siblings, who had since their ability to talk having been telling tales. My 9-year-old daughter enjoyed listening to it. The only question she had was, why is it called Paper moon?
